A GUIDED PRAYER FOR OUR NATION

An outline for equipping our Church to pray for our nation’s leaders, laws, and protection.
Utilize the scriptures and information as you pray through this outline to seek God for our nation:

1. God’s Sovereignty- Pray with gratitude and thanksgiving that God has established our nation. The boundaries, the laws, the leaders, and that He desires for our nation to prosper.

“He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding” Daniel 2:21 ESV

Prayer Points:

  • The sovereignty and protection over our nation

  • The blessing of the Lord and the prosperity of believers

  • Christian values would shape our nation

  • God would be glorified and honored by our nation, leaders and policies.  

2. Leadership- Pray for our leaders and those in authority, recognizing that God establishes governments. Pray for wisdom to uphold just borders that protect Christian cultural foundations without neglecting compassion.

“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Romans 13:1 ESV 

 

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 ESV

 

“Now therefore, O kings, be wise; be warned, O rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.” Psalm 2:10-11 ESV

Prayer Points:

  • Leaders to govern with wisdom and righteousness

  • Direct their decisions on issues and preserve a culture rooted in Truth

  • Leaders hearts are turned to the Lord 

  • Leaders would reject any ideology eroding Christian values, and promote peace and godliness

3. Just Laws and Policies- Pray for our current policies that promote Christian values, while praying against laws that advance non-biblical ideologies over biblical justice.

“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you.” Psalm 89:14 ESV

 

“For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and wrong; I will faithfully give them their recompense, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.”  Isaiah 61:8 ESV 

 

“To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” 

Proverbs 21:3 ESV

Prayer Points:

  • Just laws in our nation, state and community

  • Laws that uphold righteousness and protect against injustice

  • Laws that expose and overturn any perverted justice

  • Policies that reflect God’s heart and will, for the flourishing of His people.

4. Protection for our Nation- Pray the Lord’s protection for our nation and to exalt our nation as we honor righteousness and practice humility and repentance. Pray for protection against threats, asking God to preserve our nation under His blessing.

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!”  Psalm 33:12 ESV 

 

“The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.”  Psalm 121:7-8 ESV 

 

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV

Prayer Points:

  • Protect our nation, our state, and our community from harm—spiritual, cultural, and physical. 

  • Guard against forces that seek to erode our Christian heritage. 

  • Keep us from evil, exalt us in righteousness, and provide us with safety. 

  • Surround us with His presence, and allow no harm to come against us.

Faith & Freedom Coalition

The Faith & Freedom Coalition is a U.S. conservative, faith-based political advocacy organization founded by strategist Ralph Reed in 2009. It mobilizes evangelical Christian voters to support socially conservative causes and candidates, emphasizing religious liberty, pro-life policies, and limited government.

Focus & Issues:

  • Mobilizing faith-based conservative voters and educating them on public policy.

  • Pro-family & traditional values

  • Pro-life / anti-abortion

  • Religious liberty protections

  • Marriage & family policy

  • Education reform

  • Immigration policy

  • Support for Israel

Christian Coalition of America

The Christian Coalition of America is a U.S.-based conservative political organization founded in 1989 by televangelist Pat Robertson. It mobilizes evangelical Christians to participate in politics, advocating for socially conservative positions on issues such as abortion, family values, and religious freedom. The coalition rose to prominence in the 1990s as a major force in Republican grassroots politics.

Concerned Women for America

Concerned Women for America (CWA) is a conservative Christian public policy organization and legislative action committee in the United States. Founded in 1979, it seeks to promote biblical values in government and culture, focusing on issues like family, education, and religious liberty.

Focus & Issues:

  • Advocates for Biblical values in public policy, especially through prayer, education, and activism.

  • Opposes abortion, LGBTQ+ rights expansions, and pornography.

  • Supports traditional marriage, religious liberty, and conservative positions on family and education.

  • Operates Young Women for America for campus leadership and faith engagement

Florida Family Voice

Florida Family Voice (FFV) is one of 38 state-based policy councils around the country associated with the Family Policy Alliance, Focus on the Family, Alliance Defending Freedom, and Family Research Council. Many of these councils are the leading pro-life, pro-family organizations in their respective states. FFPC is a 501c3 non-profit corporation under the IRS tax code. We have an independent board of directors and they are responsible for raising our financial support.

Focus & Issues:

  • Life & pro-life policy (opposition to abortion and bioethical issues).

  • Marriage & family policy (traditional marriage, parental rights).

  • Education policy (parents’ rights, curriculum concerns).

  • Religious liberty & constitutional rights.

  • Advocates at state level for legislation aligned with conservative Christian values

Florida GOP Faith Coalition & Florida GOP Pro-Life Coalition

Focus & Issues:

  • Traditional family values & religious freedom advocacy in Florida.

  • Opposes abortion and expanded LGBT/transgender rights; supports parental rights in education.

  • Engages in grassroots outreach and with state lawmakers.

TPUSA: Club America (High School Aged)

Club America is a conservative youth organization for high school students launched by the conservative nonprofit Turning Point USA (TPUSA). It aims to empower students to:

  • Learn and promote conservative values — including free markets, individual freedom, limited government, and patriotism.

  • Lead events and activism on campus — such as discussions, voter registration activism, and civic engagement programming.

  • Build leadership, public speaking, networking, and grassroots skills with support from​
